NARRATIVE
OPREDSEA seeks to address mistakes and shortcomings, experienced during the last 20 years. Furthermore seeking to minimize human impacts, but at the same time valorize and develop the marine natural resources with a community centric approach.
Human impacts on the Red Sea state marine natural resources can be summed up as follows, in order of importance:
- Climate change and Extreme heatwaves
- Poaching and unsustainable fishing practices
- Habitat destruction and pollution
OPERATION RED SEA empowers the coastal communities of the Red Sea state, to valorize their natural heritage by empowering them to benefit financially from the said resources. We live in a capitalist society after all.
