Position Overview:

The International Association of Dive Professionals (IADP) is seeking dynamic and dedicated Online Community Managers to oversee our growing network of followers, fans, and members across various social networks. This role involves managing our LinkedIn and Facebook groups, as well as sector-specific groups on our dedicated portal, www.thediveprofessional.org, which is relaunching in the fall of 2024. The ideal candidates will have experience in social media and group management and a good understanding of key sectors within the diving community.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Management:

- Moderate discussions, manage members, and enforce group rules across LinkedIn, Facebook, and the dedicated portal.
- Ensure that all discussions are clean, on-topic, and respectful.

Content Posting:

- Post news, updates, and relevant content to keep the community engaged and informed.
- Share industry-related information, articles, and events that interest the members.

Engagement:

- Encourage and facilitate active participation and engagement within the groups.
- Respond to member inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.

Monitoring and Reporting:

- Monitor group activities to identify any issues or opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports on community engagement, growth, and other relevant metrics.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience:

- Experience in social media management and online community moderation.
- Familiarity with group management tools and best practices.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to create engaging content and foster meaningful discussions.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, including LinkedIn and Facebook.

Sector Knowledge:

Understanding of one or more of the following sectors:
- Training & Exploration
- Public Service
- Media & Arts
Science:
- Marine Biology
- Hyperbaric Medicine
- Marine Archeology

Personal Attributes:

- Passion for diving and a strong commitment to the values and mission of IADP.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and proactive attitude with a customer-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in community management within a professional association or non-profit organization.
- Experience with online community platforms and digital engagement tools.
