Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Support:
- Assist the President in leading the board of directors and implementing the strategic plan.
- Step in for the President when necessary, representing the association and making key decisions.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the association, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the development and implementation of programs, initiatives, and projects.
Member Engagement:
- Work closely with the membership committee to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow and retain membership.
Communications and Outreach:
- Assist in representing IADP at industry events, conferences, and with media outlets.
- Help manage internal and external communications, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
Financial Oversight:
- Collaborate with the President and Treasurer to manage the association’s finances.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, including securing sponsorships and partnerships.
Collaboration and Networking:
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners and regulatory bodies.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the diving community.
Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the diving industry, with leadership and management experience.
- Proven ability to contribute to strategic planning and organizational development.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and collaborate with the President and board.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute plans and achieve results.
- Financial literacy and experience with budget oversight.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and build consensus.
Personal Attributes:
- Passion for diving and a strong commitment to the values and mission of IADP.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to commit the necessary time and energy to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a professional association or non-profit organization.
- International experience and a global perspective on diving industry issues.
- Experience with fundraising and securing sponsorships.
