Position Overview:

The International Association of Dive Professionals (IADP) is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable individuals to join our Quality Assurance & Legal Department as Volunteer Research, Legal, or Para Legal Consultants. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in legal research, diving standards, and regulations, and will provide critical support in ensuring that the IADP’s policies and practices comply with international and local laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Research and Analysis:

- Conduct thorough legal research on diving standards, regulations, and related legal issues.
- Analyze and interpret legislation, regulations, and case law relevant to the diving industry.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Review and assess IADP’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to enhance legal compliance and quality assurance.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare detailed legal reports, summaries, and documentation.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents, contracts, and agreements.

Advisory Role:

- Offer expert advice to the Quality Assurance & Legal Department on legal matters affecting the association and it's members.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that impact the diving industry and inform the department accordingly.

Training and Education:

- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions on legal compliance and diving standards for IADP members.
- Promote awareness of legal and regulatory requirements within the organization.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal research, paralegal work, or a related field.
- Familiarity with diving industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Experience working in a non-profit or professional association environment.
- Knowledge of international diving regulations and standards.
