Vision & Mission

A clear commitment to independent representation, professional recognition, environmental responsibility, and a stronger future for the diving industry.

Vision & Mission

Vision

At the International Association of Dive Professionals (IADP), our vision is to strengthen and advance professional diving as a structured, recognized, and sustainable global profession. We act as a catalyst for higher standards, improved safety, and the effective exchange of knowledge across all sectors of the industry.

This vision is grounded in the understanding that diving is not a single discipline, but a multi-sector profession spanning recreational, commercial, scientific, environmental, and operational domains. The IADP works across this full spectrum to ensure consistent professional standards and representation.

Promoting Excellence We uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and competence across the industry.
Enhancing Safety Safety is paramount. We provide resources, training, and support so professionals can prioritize safety above all.
Facilitating Education & Training Continuous learning fuels success. We offer trainings, workshops, and resources to expand knowledge and skills.
Fostering Collaboration By connecting professionals worldwide, we create opportunities for knowledge-sharing, teamwork, and mutual support.
Advocating for Sustainability We champion sustainable practices and conservation initiatives to protect oceans and underwater ecosystems.

A Clear Path Forward

The IADP is not a static organization—it is an evolving structure designed to adapt to the real needs of dive professionals worldwide. With the rollout of IADP V5, we are implementing the next phase of that evolution: strengthening governance, refining member services, and establishing a fully operational framework that supports professionals across all sectors of the industry.

This includes the development of a transparent and democratic structure, the introduction of practical support systems such as legal and professional backing, and the creation of tools that enable members to operate more effectively and independently in an increasingly complex global environment.

IADP V5 is the foundation for long-term stability and growth—aligning professionals under one independent structure while preparing the organization for its first formal elections and expanded global operations.

Mission

The International Association of Dive Professionals (IADP) unites dive professionals worldwide—across every background and segment of the professional diving industry and its subordinate businesses—to foster a safe, sustainable, and profitable working environment for its members. We work responsively to strengthen public confidence in the industry so dive professionals can conduct their business to the highest professional standards.
