At Dive Professionals, our vision is clear: to serve as a catalyst for advancement within the diving profession by raising standards, strengthening safety, and enabling knowledge to flow across the global community.
A Clear Path Forward
The IADP is not a static organization—it is an evolving structure designed to adapt to the real needs of dive professionals worldwide. With the rollout of IADP V5, we are implementing the next phase of that evolution: strengthening governance, refining member services, and establishing a fully operational framework that supports professionals across all sectors of the industry.
This includes the development of a transparent and democratic structure, the introduction of practical support systems such as legal and professional backing, and the creation of tools that enable members to operate more effectively and independently in an increasingly complex global environment.
IADP V5 is the foundation for long-term stability and growth—aligning professionals under one independent structure while preparing the organization for its first formal elections and expanded global operations.
Mission
The International Association of Dive Professionals (IADP) unites dive professionals worldwide—across every background and segment of the professional diving industry and its subordinate businesses—to foster a safe, sustainable, and profitable working environment for its members. We work responsively to strengthen public confidence in the industry so dive professionals can conduct their business to the highest professional standards.
Policy Instruments
- Elevate competence and knowledge by encouraging and promoting high ethical, qualitative, and professional standards.
- Standardized inspection leading to an internationally recognized quality assurance / rating label for the professional diving industry.
- Co-operate with institutions on quality, technical, environmental, health, and safety regulations relevant to professional diving.
- Advocate safer, sustainable exploration by engaging with educational organizations, research institutions, and official authorities.
- Facilitate exchange of information, knowledge, and services among segments of the professional diving industry.
- Support innovation & publication across professional diving, health, marine and environmental science, and specialized diver training, by encouraging and supporting research.
Social Responsibility
- Develop and support marine conservation projects and education worldwide.
- Provide active support to minority coastline residents and communities in developing regions.
- Assist local organizations with logistical support to amplify impact.
