IADP Update · October 2025
The International Association of Dive Professionals has reached an important administrative and governance milestone with its move to La Cité des Associations in Brussels and the adoption of updated Articles of Association.
In October 2025, the International Association of Dive Professionals formally moved its registered and administrative base to La Cité des Associations, the Brussels-based association hub supporting nonprofit organisations, civic initiatives and structured community work.
This move represents more than a change of address. It places the IADP within a professional Belgian nonprofit environment while allowing the association to remain lean, digitally streamlined and internationally oriented. The IADP continues to operate primarily through online systems, remote collaboration and project-based structures, avoiding unnecessary overhead while building a stronger institutional base.
La Cité des Associations provides the IADP with a recognised administrative anchor in Brussels, helping the association strengthen its formal presence while continuing to serve dive professionals across borders and across sectors.
For an international professional association, this balance is important. The IADP does not need a heavy office structure to function effectively. It needs legal clarity, administrative continuity, reliable governance and the ability to coordinate members, volunteers and partners through modern digital tools.
The move to La Cité des Associations supports that direction: a stable Belgian nonprofit foundation combined with a practical, online-first operational model.
Alongside the move, the IADP has adopted updated Articles of Association. This update provides a clearer legal and organisational foundation for the association’s next stage of development.
The revised structure supports a more mature governance model, preparing the association for broader membership participation, stronger internal accountability and future democratic development. It also gives the IADP a clearer framework for managing its projects, committees, membership categories and professional representation role.
The Articles of Association form the legal backbone of the organisation. Operational details, procedures and working arrangements can be further developed through internal regulations, allowing the IADP to remain flexible while maintaining a solid legal base.
As part of this transitional governance phase, the IADP is operating with an interim Board of Directors. This board is responsible for stabilising the association, preparing its systems, supporting the IADP V5 development phase and guiding the organisation toward broader member participation.

Vice President and Legal Affairs. Cédric supports the association’s legal and governance development, including the strengthening of its formal nonprofit structure.
Treasurer. Mariann supports the financial oversight and administrative continuity required for the association’s next phase of development.
The IADP’s direction remains deliberately practical. The association is not building unnecessary bureaucracy or an expensive physical infrastructure. Instead, it is combining a stable Belgian nonprofit base with digital tools, remote coordination and scalable systems.
This approach allows the IADP to focus its resources on what matters: professional representation, member services, industry analysis, project development, environmental programmes and the long-term strengthening of the diving profession.
The move to La Cité des Associations and the adoption of updated Articles of Association are therefore part of the same process: creating a stronger institutional foundation while keeping the organisation agile, independent and ready for international growth.
This governance milestone is part of the wider IADP V5 development phase. The association is preparing its public structure, internal systems, membership framework and project architecture for the next stage of activity.
The current interim board will continue guiding this transition while the association builds toward broader participation, stronger member engagement and future elections.
